Washington Agriculture Jobs
Even in the heart of Seattle and Tacoma all you need to do is glance towards their ports and you will see many of the products grown right here in Washington heading to international destinations, which in turn help to create jobs in our ports. Washington’s framers and ranchers directly contribute to more than 160,000 jobs throughout our state with many of those occurring beyond the boundaries of the farm itself. They include jobs related to packaging, transportation, processing and more. In addition to the direct economic contribution the agriculture industry also uses machinery, trucks, fuel, financial services and other goods and services that support local companies and businesses. This activity helps to improve things like the roads we all drive on and the schools our children and grandchildren attend.
