Cherry Filled Volovanes
Cherry jam filling:
2 cups of cherries without pits, 1 1/2 cups of sugar, 1/2 lime juice and pinch of salt you boiled and enjoyed.
Ingredients
- 1/2 lime juice
- 1/2 cup of water with ice
- 4 cups flour
- 1 cup water
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 4 cups off butter
- flour, to extend
Directions
- In a bowl mix flour with lime , salt, sugar and melted butter. Knead until obtaining a smooth and homogeneous dough. Rest for 30 minutes. And water with ice as you need to have the dough smooth.
- Place the block of butter between non-stick plastic and with a flattened roller to have a square.
- On a floured surface, extend the dough and place the butter on an edge and fold it like a book (simple fold). Refrigerate for 20 minutes.
- Remove the cool dough and extend again, fold the edges to half the dough and fold again as a book (double turn). Return to refrigerate for another 20 minutes.
- Repeat the previous step 5 times to get layers and refrigerate covered until used.
- Fill each individual pastry with cherry filling or fruit of your choice.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 400°.
