Washington Grown Living Legacy-Skagit Valley

The Skagit Valley, shaped by the fertile soils of the Skagit River Delta, has long been one of Washington’s most productive agricultural regions. From early Indigenous stewardship and settler farming to today’s diverse crops—ranging from potatoes and berries to seed crops and world-renowned tulips—the valley supports more than 90 different crops. As the last undeveloped agricultural valley in the Puget Sound region, Skagit County remains a vital food source for the Pacific Northwest and beyond.
