On Whidbey Island, the Organic Farm School prepares the next generation of farmers through hands-on training that goes far beyond planting and harvest. Under the guidance of executive director Judy Feldman, students learn soil health, crop planning, organic certification, budgeting, and how to sell food directly to their communities. By the end of the program, apprentices like Brooke Peterson leave with the skills and confidence to manage farms—or start their own—rooted in both practicality and passion.
